CONFIRM LANDING TYPE - Please be sure that your landing is a Single Turn or "L" shape as those seen in the image below.*
- YES - my landing is Square or rectangular: On a single platform it turns just once - creating an "L" shaped staircase overall.

Stair Measurement - Tread + Riser*
- Yes, my steps are typical size: 18 to 19 inches total tread + riser.
NOT SURE? Please measure your steps. Most tend to be 18 to 19" total measurement step and riser. A total measurement starts at the back of the tread, forward, then wrapping the nose and down the riser. (minor differences from one step to another are normal) If your average measurement is 18 to 19" please click that option. If not please click "Other" and provide the average dimension.

We always discuss landing direction from the bottom of a staircase and working up. Our Fabrication is affected by the description of this direction so it is very important that this information is accurate, and consistently described only from the bottom up.

Lower Stair Count - Number of Treads/Risers BELOW the landing?*
Stair counts are broken down into sections: those below and those above the landing. Working up from the bottom of the staircase - Count the lower stairs only - please choose your tread/riser count (for this section only) from the drop down list above.
Tread = the horizontal component/the part you walk on. Riser = the vertical component between each tread. You will have one more riser than tread in each run (section) of steps.

Landing Depth - In Inches*

As you face the landing when walking up the staircase this dimension is the full distance away from you - from the nosing to the wall.
Landing Width - In Inches*

As you face the landing when walking up the staircase, this dimension is the full width left to right/right to left - generally from a wall across to the first riser above the landing.
Landing Depth - In Inches*

Facing the landing when walking up the staircase this dimension is the full distance away from you - from the nosing to the wall.
Landing Span/Length - In Inches*

This dimension is generally the largest, the full length or span left to right/right to left.
Landing Return - In Inches*

This is the third leg of the "U" shape from the back of the landing (typically a wall) to the riser that sits just above the landing surface.

Upper Stair Count - Number of Treads/Risers ABOVE the landing?*
Stair counts are broken down into sections, those below and those above a landing. Working up from the riser just above the landing - Count the upper stairs only - please choose your tread/riser count (for this section only) from the drop down list above.

NOTE: If you have two landings within your staircase, this question is referring to the middle steps (this may just be a single riser between the 2 landings) - we'll ask for the uppermost steps/section later.
