Shipping Policy

*For most straight runner orders totaling $500 or more (region 1) OR $750 or more (region 2) – standard ground* shipping is FREE* within the contiguous United States. In general exceptions detailed below include upgraded or unusual shipping requirements, extra wide or extra long runners and our Custom Fabrications since these result in Over-Size packages. 

Region 1/Standard Runner Order: For an order that totals $499.99 or less, The Stair Runner Store offers a flat shipping rate of $39* for standard* shipping.
Region 2/Standard Runner Order: For an order that totals $749.99 or less, The Stair Runner Store offers a flat shipping rate of $49* for standard* shipping.

Handling – both shipping fees and shipping supplies have increased dramatically – to offset this increased cost, an $11.95 handing fee will be applied to free shipping orders.

For swatches or other small orders shipping cost will vary based on cart total, but is a minimum of $9.75.

Shipping and Processing time frames do not include weekends or national holidays.
With few exceptions, we have materials shipped to us first for inspection, repackage and ship to you. (this typically adds only 1 or possibly 2 days to the process) Some orders may be shipped to you directly from our manufacturer using FedEx or UPS ground services – this primarily applies to swatch orders. In either case delivery times vary based on the vendor, product availability and your location. To determine the estimated date of arrival for a specific order, please use the tracking number which, once available will be provided via e-mail posted to your order. If you wish to utilize priority or overnight shipping services, or if your shipping location requires additional services, please contact us. Because the availability of these services can vary depending on the manufacturer, your location, or the size of the product, we handle them on a case-by-case basis. These services will add additional cost to your total. StairRunnerStore.com will not ship runner products to a P.O. box or other mail box service. We will do our best to accommodate your shipping needs. The majority of our packages will have a signature requirement at delivery due to their value. *Oversize custom fabrication orders or oversize area rugs will carry an additional shipping fee. Please see Over-sized Orders/Non-Standard Shipping below.

*Over-size Orders/Non-Standard Shipping: Custom landings projects are the most common shipment which results in an over-size shipping fee. Custom projects require a quote – the over-size shipping fee will be part of your quote. Custom size runners, area rugs or custom made area rugs, extra wide or very long rolls may be considered over-size and will not qualify for free shipping – please ask for a specific shipping quote for your order. (the shipping estimate function on our site will not reflect over-size or non-standard requirements/locations) If your order is too large to ship through FedEx or UPS ground services (this is rare) or requires non-standard shipping services (such as an Island location or other destination with limited access)  – we reserve the right to use an alternative shipping company and/or to add a shipping fee to your order. This type of fee will be the cost in excess of what we typically absorb under our free/flat shipping policy. (an oversize fee typically adds $99 to each “L shaped landing, $149 to $199 to a “U” shaped landing project,  determined case by case based on the size of the resulting packages) If necessary, you may be contacted by The Stair Runner Store or by a shipping company to provide shipping information and to schedule a delivery date.  These types of arrangements may add cost and time to the final delivery date. Hardware products carry a per item shipping/handling fee of $2.50.

Extra Wide runner materials carry an oversize shipping fee which varies by the order size.

Processing: Runner materials are cut ordered from the manufacturer and are subject to current availability. Processing and shipping time varies from one product to another, vary by vendor or may be affected by the size/quantity of the order. The Stair Runner Store will process your order through our vendor within 24 hours of receipt.   Once we ship – you will receive a UPS or FedEx tracking number.

Orders must be shipped to Stair Runner Store for any finishes or custom services you may have requested. These finishes add from several days or possibly 2 or 3 weeks to the final delivery time and vary depending on the type of or amount of work to be done. This timing will be communicated to you via email when processing your order.

Back-order: Most products,  if they are in stock with the manufacturer, will ship and arrive here (to The Stair Runner Store) in approximately 7-10 days. However, an item that is on back-order will be shipped once available. Back-order times vary from several days to several weeks or in some cases months. Once you have placed an order we will notify you within 1 – 3 days of any back-order and provide an estimated arrival date.  In the case of a back-order that exceeds 10 weeks, you can request prior to placing your order, that a 50% deposit be processed to keep your order in force. The balance due will then be applied before the item ships from the vendor. Back-orders of 10 weeks or less will be handled as any other purchase, full payment due at order.

If you would like to ensure that a product is available, please Contact Us prior to placing your order, and we will gladly check its availability with the manufacturer. If you wish to cancel or change an existing order because of a back-order, please alert The Stair Runner Store as soon as possible. Any cancellation request will only be granted if we are able to determine that the material has NOT been cut by the vendor. Once material has been cut, it can no longer be cancelled or changed. Back-order timing varies greatly, and is out of the control of The Stair Runner Store. Back-order information given at the time of the original order can subsequently be changed by the manufacturer. We will communicate availability and shipping time frames as it becomes available to us and offer alternate product suggestions as needed.

Orders Shipped to Connecticut: Because The Stair Runner Store is based in Connecticut, we are obligated to collect and remit sales tax for any orders shipped to a Connecticut address. (Orders shipped to all other states will not include sales tax.) See sales tax information in Terms and Conditions.

Area Rugs: Some runner products offer a coordinating area rug line. These rugs range in size from a small accent to room size and oversize rugs. The free shipping over $500.00 and flat rate shipping policy will apply to area rugs up to 3’ x 5’. Area rugs over this size will carry a shipping fee that will vary by vendor, size, weight and destination. While these specific products are not listed on our site, they are available for purchase.

Damage:  
IMPORTANT: Immediately take notice of and report to the driver any damage to your package at the time of delivery and before opening. Record such damage with photographs before opening the package. If you feel that an item you received is damaged or incorrect, please see our return policy and initiate contact with us within 48 hours of receipt. Return Policy


OTHER:
Private Shipping Arrangements:  
If you would like to make your own shipping arrangements, please contact us upon placing your order. We will accommodate such requests by turning over the goods to your contractor at our location. The package(s) will be turned over in good condition. This will be documented with photographs. For this reason we will not take responsibility for any damage during shipment. This will be resolved between you and your shipping contractor.

Please note: At this time, The Stair Runner Store has not made specific arrangements to ship to Hawaii, Alaska, or locations outside of the United States. This type of order will be handled on a case by case basis. If you have a shipping provider, and would like to make your own, direct arrangements with them for such a shipment – please Contact Us. We will do our best to accommodate your shipping needs.
