There’s no difference between a stair runner and hall/floor runner in terms of the product* – its a matter of where you use it. You can use our cut to length carpet runners in your hallways, entrance, kitchen or other areas where you need a long narrow rug or carpet.
*There are ready-made area rug products which may be referred to as a “hall runner” but typically offered in shorter lengths of 7 to 8 feet. These are not suitable for a stair installation.
Our Roll Runner products can be finished to just about any length needed making them much more versatile and useful in more areas of the home. Custom length carpet runners allow you to coordinate your hall and stair runners.

NOTE:
When a runner is used on any hard surface flooring and will not be installed – you should plan to use a non-skid underly or rubber-backed padding to prevent the runner from being slippery.
A runner which ends on a floor (a horizontal surface) should have finished ends – this option is selected on the product page while ordering.
