There’s no difference between a stair runner and hall/floor runner in terms of the product* – its a matter of where you use it. You can use our cut to length carpet runners in your hallways, entrance, kitchen or other areas where you need a long narrow rug or carpet whether it is a fixed width Roll Runner product or one of our Custom Width materials.

*There are ready-made rug products which may be referred to as a “hall runner” in shorter lengths typically limited to 7 to 8 feet these are not suitable for a stair installation.
Our products can be finished to just about any length needed making them much more versatile and useful in more areas of the home. Custom length carpet runners allow you to coordinate your hall and stair runners.

When the runner is used on any floor surface and will not be installed – you should plan to use a non-skid underly or rubber-backed pad to prevent the runner from being slippery.
