Nosing

Nosing (Also referred to as Bull-nose) The rounded front or outside edge of the stair tread which generally protrudes out over the riser.

The nosing or nose is the front part of the step that protrudes out over the riser.

A nosing can also be located on a floor above the staircase or on the front of a landing.
